Good Bye 2011, Hello 2012!

Well, Happy New Year! (almost). It's been a while. Had to get this last 2011 posting in...

It is hard to believe that this time last year we were just coming to terms with the extremely unbelievable news that somehow we were having triplets. I will never, ever forget that night spent in L.A. half lying half sitting in the hospital bed Todd standing at the foot and the doctor telling us that in fact not only were there still two heart beats there were actually THREE and that apparently one of the eggs of our expected twins had actually split; missed on a previous ultrasound. Crazy!

It goes without saying that just like my last post things are still busy and I am coming to the conclusion that they will be for a very long time.  The busy however, has changed; it's evolved. The girls are amazing. Growing big.... smiling all day long. Three happy sweet baby girls.  For all the times that these three little ladies have to wait to be fed or wait to be played with or read to or held or kissed etc. they are doing extremely well. They are just soooo happy!  They are some of the best babies I have ever met. Well, of course being the mom I am totally biased but really these girls don't seem to complain about much. They are patient and observant.  Just starting to figure out that 'Hey...you mean I have not just one but TWO sisters, TWO??? Wow,  is that who is punching me in the side of the head right now and trying to grab my ear?  So maybe they are cluing in to the fact that mom has two other babies to take care of and occasionally we need to give mom a break because 'Hey, Mom is doing an ok job'....maybe.

Sleeping through the night...well the mom code dictates that this is NEVER something you brag about to any other moms. Believe me when I tell you I am not bragging. It took a lot of work and routine and it was a joint effort with the babies so I am happy to report that as of one night in November everyone officially began sleeping through the night.

Solid food has become a big part of our life and a big part of the day. Currently everyone is eating solid foods with rice or oat cereal twice per day and that being said I will now begin to attempt to make home made baby food. I know, I know...where in the world will I find time for that? Not sure to be honest but hey I'm going to try. If it doesn't work out well that's ok too! Baby food that you purchase in the store is actually quite good and highly regulated. No preservatives or additives just pured veggies for the most part and you can buy organic, so in the end if I can't do it I'm not going to feel guilty about it.

The girls first Christmas was very fun. Of course they had no clue that Christmas had arrived other then having their Poppa and Grammie shower them with attention for a week, and some new toys, books and clothes being presented to them. As an added bonus Auntie Tracy and Uncle Barton joined us for a couple days after Christmas so we had some really good 'family time'. We did manage to have our picture taken with Santa this year and to be honest I wasn't quite sure it was going to happen. It's quite the production getting everyone out of the house all at once but Todd and I prevailed and once we were out however we took full advantage. We were out for about 5 hours and the girls did awesome. No crying or fussing. It was so hilarious to see their eyes as big as can be taking in the sights and sounds.  We even fed them at the mall.  As posted on Facebook we seemed to overwhelm Santa a bit. The idea was to do one shot of all three girls with Santa but when Todd mentioned it to him he couldn't quite grasp how it was all going to work. He kept stating that he wasn't sure how he would manage all three....so we gave Ol' St. Nick a break and did Violet and then Evangeline and Victoria.

Well, its' New Year's Eve Day and I've got to get on with it. Still a few things I am trying to accomplish before the New Year roles in; and I am sure many of you are off to fantastic parties or perhaps spending quality time just hanging out with those you love. We will be ringing in the New Year here at home with a bottle of Champagne (of course) and most likely reminiscing about what the year has brought us and looking forward to what we anticipate 2012 to look like.

So Happy New Year to all of you! We wish you peace and prosperity and whatever else you are hoping that 2012 brings your way.

Love, the Kennelly's
