Well we are very happy to report, as many of you already know, that the Peanut (Evangeline) is finally home! In fact she has been home for about three weeks now. No more heart rate dips (just full and content hearts) as we enjoy all three of our baby girls together at last.
I can't believe it's September. The girls are over 13 weeks old and will be one month 'adjusted' age tomorrow. For the most part everything has just been one Very BIG Blur. Loads of laundry, diapers, laughter and tears...
Time is at such a premium and moves so quickly for us now that I struggle daily with how much quality time I am really spending with the girls. We spend lots of time together (obviously) but so much of it is just 'getting down to business' feeding, burping, changing etc. with some nursery rhymes, made up songs and stories and an occasional reading from the world of Dr. Seuss or 'Good Night Vancouver' and of course some tummy time and a bath or two. Sometimes I look up at the clock and realize that unbelievably hours of time have passed without me even registering it. Did I eat today? If so, what did I eat and why can't I remember it? That is a scary reality for me...it will all be over in a blink I know it...this baby stage. Their sweet little breathe blowing on my cheek....smacking their lips together for another round at the bottle. I try and get as much done as possible while they nap on and off through out the day so unfortunately I have gotten out of the habit of napping myself. Which of course, isn't a good thing. Every day I promise myself that tomorrow I will make sure I nap and then inevitably someone throws up an entire bottle and the nap time slowly slips away as the clock ticks closer to another feeding time.
Don't get me wrong it's not just me....(well sometimes it is) but I recently had two weeks of help from my parents which was glorious. It's fun seeing them as Grandparents. It's like they actually transformed somehow into Grandparents and that's it; they are forever changed. Of course Todd's mom is my life support. Staying with us for days at a time and helping with the girls and the chores around the clock and then of course there is Todd. He does his part too. Sometimes when it's just Todd and I we just sit in a daze in the middle of the night each one feeding a baby. I guess it's a form of auto pilot.
Life is good for the Kennelly's. All the girls are doing so well and growing so big. It's hard to believe they were so small at one time. Well, I guess compared to the average baby they are still pretty small (especially the Peanut) but to us they are giants!
We had a fantastic shower thrown for the girls in August. Thank you to my dear friends Carol, Kim and Dragana for hosting a splendid event and to all the ladies in attendance. Your generosity was too much. It was so great to see you all and introduce you all 'officially' to the girls. It was nice to share our joy with so many.
